Winning the Battle

Funar's picture

It was a long and difficult battle involving everything from illness unlike I can ever remember experiencing to a bout of pneumonia, but I seem to be back to my usual self again - finally. Unfortunately, April has been a bit if a "write-off" when it comes to development. However, the big move to the the new web site has been hugely successful. While the number of new registrations and posts hasn't exactly skyrocketed (the "Community Leader" position is still open by the way!), we're seeing a considerable amount of hits from Google, Yahoo!, and other search engines now. Drupal is far more search engine friendly.

On the server front, not much has changed. I'm more working on stability and scalability issues these days. The core server architecture is complete - the world/master/zone layout is working very well in the minimal testing we're doing. There's still a lot that needs to happen, but progress is still moving forward.

Currently, the game client has all the pieces and parts of the proposed client, but lacks any form of user-friendly interface. Once the UI is nailed down, and the debugging code is not needed as much anymore, we'll be able to start talking closed beta to test core features while game mechanics are worked out.
